Studio Policies
FOOD / DRINKS: No gum, food or drinks (except bottles of water) are allowed anywhere in the studio facility (including the lobby). Each dancer should bring a bottle of water (labeled with their name) to class each week. There are no drinking fountains in either studio.
PARKING: The parking slots for our use have the concrete section painted white. Those designated for the store are painted yellow. Please only park in the white spaces.
OBSERVATION: It is important for students to be focused while in their dance classes. For this reason, families may observe on the FIRST CLASS of the month only. New families may also observe during the entire first month if desired. Please refrain from talking during class. Also, please step out to the lobby or outside the studio to talk on cell phones.
ABSENCES / MAKE-UP CLASSES: If a student misses a class they may take a make-up class of the same or lower level. (For example if a student is enrolled in Ballet I, they may take a make-up in Ballet I offered on a different day, or take a class in the next level down which is Pre-Ballet). Tuition is non-refundable and is not pro-rated for absences or holidays. Please give notification to Cheryl or your teacher when you need to take make-up classes. Make-up classes may also be taken in advance for future dates when the student will be absent.
ILLNESS: Please do not have students attend dance classes if they are sick. The dancers have close proximity and may also share props such as scarves, etc. Let’s try to keep everyone healthy and not spread the germs around. (Make-up classes may be taken instead).
DANCE FLOOR: No running, playing or street shoes are allowed on the dance floor. Please remove street shoes before stepping into the studio. The dance floor is raised, so please watch your step coming into and going out of the studio.
BELONGINGS: Students should store their personal belongings such as shoes and dance bags inside the studio and items should be placed under the chairs or benches. Please do not leave things out on the dance floor, in the doorways or in the lobby.
MIRRORS: No one should touch, lean or sit against the mirrors or the rugs that are next to the mirrors.
RESTROOMS: Students are expected to use the rest room before class.
CLASS SIZE: Classes in Studio 1 will have between 6 - 18 students, and classes held in Studio 2 will range from 6 – 15 students.
Dance Class Policies
PUNCTUALITY: The time on the schedule is when class starts, not when students should arrive. As students of the art form of dance, taking proper care of the body is important to prevent injury. It also prepares the mind for class. Therefore we are asking all students to arrive at least 5 minutes prior to class. If students need to change their clothes please allow additional time. Also students who are in Intermediate and Advanced levels should arrive even earlier so they can begin limbering up prior to their class.
JEWELRY: Jewelry tends to get in the way while dancing. During classes students should not wear jewelry (small stud earrings are ok). No dangling earrings, necklaces, bracelets, etc. Also, no jewelry should be worn during performances.
DANCE ATTIRE: No midriffs, crop tops or street clothes including jeans, pajamas or baggy shirts may be worn in dance classes.
TIGHTS: Tights may not be worn alone without shoes because they are too slippery.
